Happy Union

A lavishly dressed woman receives a crown of leaves, signifying virtuous love, from a girdled figure, probably Venus, goddess of love, acting as protector of marriage. She sits on a sphere and a horn of plenty symbolising prosperity. The olive branch held by the woman symbolises concord, the dog marital fidelity. Although wingless, the little boy chaining her in happy marriage may be Cupid.
