The Interior of the Grote Kerk at Haarlem

The interior of the church dedicated to Saint Bavo is seen from the north side of the choir. Although the painting bears no date, a drawing from which it was made mentions that the picture was finished in May 1637. Saenredam masterfully depicts the play of light on the white-washed walls of the interior.
