Silenus gathering Grapes
Silenus, the plump companion of Bacchus, the god of wine, is being lifted up so that he can reach a bunch of grapes from a vine overhead. Nearby, two putti engage in a similar activity. The painting probably formed the lid of a keyboard instrument made for the Roman scholar Fulvio Orsini.
