Moses defending the Daughters of Jethro

Moses (centre) defended the seven daughters of Jethro, priest of Midian, from shepherds who had prevented them from watering their father's sheep at the well. Moses watered their animals himself (Exodus 2: 16-19). Saraceni painted this work on copper, in imitation of the practice of northern European artists.
