1968
1968
In 1968 the young generation in the East as well as in the West rose up against the philosophy and morality of post-war society. Ideological "bloc" thinking, the Cold War and the atomic threat influenced people's attitude to life. Artists of the "Happening and Fluxus" movement endeavored to break through fixed patterns of perception. Installations, photographs and posters extended the concept of art beyond conventional painting and sculpture. Process art evolved and was viewed as a communicator of social problems.
