Originally, this grandiose panel used to stand on the altar of the Castle Chapel of the Bishop's seat in Roudnice nad Labem, consecrated in 1371. In the upper part, the Emperor Charles IV. referred to by St Sigismund, adores the Enthroned Madonna on the left. On the right is a kneeling figure of the young Wenceslas IV with St Wenceslas. In the lower part we can see the kneeling figure of the panel's donor the Prague archbishop Jan Očko of Vlašim. He lays his hands in those of St Adalbert - the patron saint of the Prague bishopric - and St Vitus, the patron saint of the metropolitan church, lays his hand on the Archbishop's shoulder. From the left and right, the scene is completed by the Bohemian patron saints Ludmila and Procopius. The panel intended for private use in the Archbishop's chapel emphasizes the harmony between the secular and religious power which formed one of the pillars of the successful reign of Charles IV. The author of the painting must have been well acquainted with the works by Master Theodoricus and his co-workers in the Karlštejn Castle.

Své ruce klade do rukou sv. Vojtěcha - patrona pražského biskupství - a na rameno mu pokládá ruku sv. Vit, patron metropolitního kostela. Scénu pak zprava i zleva uzavírají zemští patroni sv. Ludmila a sv. Prokop.
