The Church of Santa Maria Aracoeli on the Capitol in Rome was one of the regular destinations of the pilgrims who came to worship the graceful painting of the Virgin Mary. In commemoration of the Roman procession the Emperor Charles IV also brought home a devotional copy and donated it to the St Vitus Cathedral in Prague.
